I’m Yu-Chun Lin. I completed my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Entomology at National Chung Hsing University, and started my Ph.D. in Entomology from National Taiwan University. My research focuses on insect physiology and pathology, particularly how biotic and abiotic stresses affect insect energy metabolism and behavior.
As a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Po-An Lin’s lab, I’m mainly involved in two projects: (1) how insect saliva regulates plant stomata, and (2) how drought stress in plants influences insect immune responses. Through these studies, I hope to integrate my expertise in both insect and plant physiology.
I really enjoy being around animals — besides taking care of Lepidopteran larvae for our lab experiments, I also have guinea pigs and birds at home, which make my daily life lively and heartwarming. In my free time, I love listening to music, reading, jotting down inspiring quotes, and capturing interesting moments with my camera. For outdoor activities, I enjoy hiking in the countryside and cycling. Even though research can be stressful at times, these hobbies help me stay passionate about both my work and my life.
