I am You-Zhen, a research assistant at the Department of Entomology, NTU. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Plant Medicine from NCYU and a master’s degree in Plant Pathology from NCHU.
My master’s thesis focused on the effects of silicon-solubilizing bacteria, a type of beneficial microbe, on helping cucumber plants cope with abiotic stress, particularly saline conditions. Currently, I am investigating how herbivore-mediated stomatal changes influence interactions between insect herbivores and plant pathogens.
Beyond research, I love traveling and immersing myself in nature, where I often find quiet moments of inspiration. I also enjoy practicing calligraphy, reading novels, and jogging in my free time to stay energized and clear my mind.
